Top 10 Baby Proofing Products

There are many things you need to think about when you babyproof your home. The first thing that would be wise is to crawl around on the floor as if you are a baby to see any clear hazards.

As far as products go, here are a few suggestions.

If you have a pool, you MUST invest in a baby perimeter fence around the pool. This is not an option in any home. That is my best opinion. Here, in Florida, where pools are abundant there are way too many toddler drowning accidents. There is no exception to this rule.

If you have stairs you must invest in a baby gate at the bottom and at the top of the steps. You absolutely want to keep your baby safe from those dangers of going up and falling down the stairs.

Outlet plugs are a very good idea. It's easy for baby's fingers to go right into those outlets and if he or she is holding a toy or stick of any kind that makes it very dangerous. Outlet plugs are fairly cheap and can be installed very easily.

It is very wise to get cabinet locks especially on those cabinets that are at a low level and that contain dangerous chemicals or medicines. You also can purchase these at any discount or baby store.

Even though this is not a product to purchase, I would recommend looking around to see what is at toddler level such as cleaning chemicals, medicines, exposed garbage cans, and other items that you don't want your toddler or baby touching. This is why it is important to crawl around at their level so you don't overlook anything.

Blind cord ties. You want to be sure that your toddler cannot touch or get caught up in those cords that are atttached to any window blinds. Too many kids have been hurt or strangled with those as well and there are products on the market that can help you tie those up nicely so your kid is not exposed to the dangers.

Toilet seat locks. Again, you want to be sure that your toddler cannot get into any water at all in the house. It only takes a little bit of water to drown a small child and sometimes there is enough water in the toilet to be a danger. Make sure you purchase a few toilet locks for around the house.
